Festive mood at Village Eagles last golf game at Umdoni Park
Best Lady was Terry Bacchus on 37 individual points and Alan Munn took the men’s prize on 45 points.
The Umdoni Park Golf Course was the venue for the last game of the year for the Village Eagles on December 2.
There were 68 Eagles in attendance, and it was raining as everyone arrived on the course.
The Eagles all agreed to delay the start to 08:30, and the weather cleared for a great day of golf!
The golf course was in immaculate condition. The lost ball count was 111, Hans Brunnings was closest for his guess. A special thanks to the staff of Umdoni Park for providing players with the privilege of competing at Umdoni. Another special thanks to Pam in the pro shop for registering the golfers.

Best Lady was Terry Bacchus on 37 individual points and Alan Munn took the men’s prize on 45 points.
The winners on the day were Mervyn Perry, Paul Thomas, Henry Hampson and Hans Brunings on an alliance score of 96 points. The longest day and collecting the Stones Trophy were Les Vince, John Watkins, Nigel Henson and Conrad Klusener on 84 points. The results were calculated by Stan Sim and Alistar Eyres.
Eddie Mathews presented the results and a Christmas message in the evening, and there was an entertaining fines session by the master himself, Derek Hodge – I am sure all present were more than happy to pay their fine/s.

Everyone then proceeded to enjoy the Christmas dinner and dance provided by the Umdoni Golf Club, the food was excellent, the live entertainment by ‘Just Magic’ provided all with a lot of great tunes too.
Some singing and dancing into the night was enjoyed.
On behalf of the committee, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy new year.
The next game will be held at Umkomaas Golf Club on January 6. See you all there.
STAN SIM
