Sages golf enjoys resurgence on South Coast
The blue shirts have been out and about on the fairways again - and it's great to see.
Sages golf is alive and well on the South Coast, having been revived by a group of golfers who love the game and the ethos behind the society.
Sages stands for the South African Golfing Embassadors Society for Senior Golfers.
It was founded in 1974 and is a registered public benefit golfing society for golfers over 50 years old.
Sages play monthly games in their local area, allowing members the opportunity of fellowship and competition with other senior golfers, at different courses at reduced rates.

A key driver of Sages is its long-standing association with Cansa, where each Sages branch nationwide holds an annual Cansa tournament.
Sages comprises some 28 branches nationwide with more than 2400 members.
Notably the Lower South Coast branch, founded in 1976, was one of the first branches to be established.
LSC Sages underwent a brief hiatus in 2021, however it was reestablished in 2025 and now boasts some 60 members drawn from various clubs.
Sages welcomes partnership opportunities with local businesses, and currently enjoys relationships with various sponsors who offer a whopping R10 000 prize for a hole-in-one.
LSC Sages can be contacted through the Margate Country Club or on sageslsc@gmail.com.
