SOUTHBROOM
The second Easter Festival of Bowls, sponsored by Haval GWM Shelly Beach, takes place this weekend.
It features a high-quality field of 12 teams who will be competing for more than R15 000 in prizemoney.
The sections have been named Tank 500, P500 and Haval H6 GT.
The event starts with an auction of the participating teams this Thursday, followed by two days of play.
On Easter Monday, there will be free, fun introductory bowls from 10:00 to 14:00 and social bowls in the afternoon.
A potjie contest will run alongside. Phone Cleve on 082 7835236 if you would like to take part.
Walking on Water (Cleve Walker, Julie Walker and Tony Waters) are still in the lead after round three of the Hibiscus Brokers’ SuperTrips.
Winners from last Thursday, in section order, were as follows:
Riverside – Hare and Hounds (Paul Mundell, Vernon Strauss and Neil Paterson).
Margate – Dream Team (Anthea Bratby, Donald Moir and Butch Bruce).
Southbroom Stone – The Crows (Mark Kassner, Shaun Crow and Rob Jackson).
Munster – Riverside Boys (Peter Griffiths, Gerhard Waldeck and Clinton Edmonds).
Banners Rest – The Pink Panthers (Mal Sheppard, Lynn Faure and Ann Taylor).

HIBBERDENE
The nominated mixed trips on March 27, sponsored by Bechoo’s Funeral Service, was won by Alex Bukes, Neil Patterson and Elize Duvenage.
Runners-up were Lorriane van Jaarsveld, Sean Boyley and Maureen du Toit.
Session went to Eddie Milne, Miriam Seagar and Jimmy Hay.
Next competition is the Hibberdene Spar drawn mixed trips this Thursday (today) at 15:00.

RIVERSIDE
The Uvongo Spar competition last week was won by St John Roodt, Pat Maulgue and Paul Mundell.
Runners-up were Ernie Harvard, Thelma Harvard and Phillip Pretorius.
The Tiago’s trips competition on March 27 was won by Mo Karani, Carol Roodt and Peter Budde.
Winners of the pairs were Len Hawkins and Michael van der Merwe.

MARGATE
The Food Lover’s Market open pairs on March 27 was won by Johan du Preez and Jeanne Gregori.
Runners-up were Ron Vink and Theo Vorster.
Session winners were Roy Deakin and Martin Brower.
Lucky draw was won by Steve Blundell.
