Volleyball shows growth on South Coast
A sponsorship partnership supports two indoor knockout competitions, as well as a schools' tournament.
The Port Shepstone Volleyball Association (PSVA) extends its gratitude to its generous sponsor from Gauteng, Mega Star Group (Aqua Darshan), whose support since 2023 has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of volleyball in the South Coast region.
In 2023, Aqua Darshan made an impact by supporting both local league and knockout competitions, providing opportunities for players to compete, develop, and showcase their talent. This commitment continued in 2024 and 2025 through the sponsorship of the Aqua Darshan PSVA series, which further elevated the standard and visibility of the sport in the community and KZN.
In 2026, this remarkable partnership has reached even greater heights supporting two knockout competitions (indoor), as well as a schools’ tournament that will not only promote youth participation, but also ensure that all learners and teachers are provided with meals – demonstrating a commitment to community upliftment and well-being.
“Such consistent and impactful support, especially from a sponsor based outside our province, speaks volumes about their dedication to the development of sport and community empowerment in KZN. Their contributions have strengthened our programmes, inspired our athletes, and brought our community closer together,” said Collin Reddiar, president of PSVA.
The volleyball association is geared up for a action packed season, with the Ugu schools tournament at Marburg Sports Complex on May 9; and the second and third knockout tournament to be played at the Nkanini Indoor Sports Centre in Mtwalume on June 13 and October 13.
