First run for new trails in Scottburgh

A trail run will be held this Sunday, in partnership with KZN Trail Running.

New trail runs have been launched at the Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh.

To mark this occasion, the centre will be hosting the Crocworld Trail Run this Sunday (26th), in partnership with KZN Trail Running, with more planned in the coming months!

“These trail runs are a fantastic way to showcase the natural beauty of our environment while encouraging healthy, active lifestyles,” said Susan Badat, centre manager.

The exciting new event gives runners of all levels the chance to experience this diverse route through the KZN South Coast’s forest and riverine trails.

An MTB event event was also recently held on the new trails.

The route includes highlights such as the flowing Pepperwood Trail, the enchanting Butterfly Forest and the breath taking Ocean’s View summit, offering 180 degree vistas of the Indian Ocean and surrounding hills.

With a mix of jeep track and smooth single track, the course is accessible to beginners while still delivering a rewarding challenge for seasoned runners.

Runners can choose from three race options: long course – 20km, start at 06:30, elevation 631m; medium course -10km, start at 07:00, elevation 351m; and short course – 5km, start: 07:30, elevation 185m.

Registration is from 06:00 (briefing 15 minutes before race) and it is a loop race type. To find out more, contact 082 7917069 or email info@kzntrailrunning.co.za or info@badgerscsc.co.za
