Consolation win for Sezela cricket

The team gained some valuable experience against strong opponents.

Sezela Cricket Club finally chalked up their first win in the Southern KZN Autumn 100, with a swashbuckling half century from Tyrone Olivier seeing them secure the victory against Crusaders CC.

It was a bit of a rough campaign, with the team losing four out of their five games, but the level has been a bit higher than last season, playing against some Division 1 teams.

They have lost their opening four games, against some tough opposition, but this isn’t to say they haven’t played some exciting and entertaining cricket along the way.

Keegan Wallis celebrates his half century.

There were substantial contributions from various players, as expected, but the bowling of Keegan Wallis during the tournament made former Aussie great Glenn McGrath look expensive.

And he’s made some runs as well, entering the category of genuine all-rounder, or is it a bit soon?

Whatever the case, the Sezela team plays in a fun fashion, exhibiting much flair and while they missed out on the knockout stage, will be eagerly anticipating the Winter League which starts on June 21.
