South Coast Warriors’ rugby teams have enjoyed a decent run of form of late, winning two important games and keeping their hopes of topping the log alive.
Playing in the First Division South league, they took on Hluhluwe at home two weeks ago, and then Maritzburg away.

Against Hluhluwe, the second team won 18-17, with the firsts triumphing 25-17.
Tries for the first team were scored by Lunga Madala, AJ Pienaar, Bothma Oosthuizen and Rowan Gasa.
Eben Botes slotted two penalties and two conversions, with a third conversion kicked by Leo van der Westhuizen.

In Pietermaritzburg, the seconds won 14-10 with two tries scored by Ockert Schonken and converted by Gareth Selkon.
The first team had an easier time of it, running out 48-31 winners.
Tries were scored by AJ Bowen, AJ Pienaar, Jarred Berning, Keagan van der Bergh, Leo van der Westhuizen, Daryn Nyman and Chris Sharpe.

Four of these were converted, one by Leo van der Westhuizen and three by Marchell Sass.
The Warriors have played seven out of 10 games and top the log with 25 points.
Toti lie second with 22, but have a game in hand. Kokstad also have 22 points, but have played seven games.
Then comes Hluhluwe on 17 points after six games, with Ballito Dolphins next on 11 points and Maritzburg on seven, with both having played seven games.
Next up for Warriors is a home game against Ballito on June 20, which they should win, then there’s an absolute must-win game away against Toti on July 4.
They will round out their season with another tough game, against Kokstad away on July 11.
