Liverpool-Man United golf battle looms at Port Shepstone Country Club
The friendly banter is already flying.
The annual Pro-Vision Liverpool vs Manchester United golfing derby is set to take to the fairways at Port Shepstone Country Club on September 13.
With Liverpool FC easing ahead of Manchester United in the Premier League proper, Reds captain Wzo Scholtz is feeling confident his golf team can do it again.
He has the opportunity to guide his team to a rare hat-trick of wins as captain.
But standing in his way is United’s new captain Macallistair Korah, who hopped the proverbial bridge two seasons ago on a transfer, the amount of which has been undisclosed.
Judging by Macallistair’s performance with the irons and putter last year, some suspected he may still be on Liverpool’s payroll, a spy even.
He claims otherwise, of course, and ever the smiling assassin, has vowed to return the trophy to the Red Devils. That’s if he’s not called up as fly-half cover for the Springboks this Saturday.
It’s a new era, he claims, and he is hungry for success. But so is Wzo, who wants to make some (more) Liverpool history.
Hunger is usually something the players don’t experience at a Pro-Vision day, with an array of tasty treats arranged for the day.
