Snipers get snagged by Chatsworth in cricket tournament
Eben Schoeman starred with bat and ball albeit in a losing cause.
The Snipers U11s went down by 12 runs in a hard-fought match against Chatsworth Sporting in the final of the U11 CMCA Exilirlab cricket tourney.
Chatsworth Sporting batted first and made 119-8 in 20 overs.
Chahel Harie 23* (34) top-scored, with support from Juvan Reddy 20 (33).
For the Snipers, Eben Schoeman was superb with 3-9 (4), assisted by Luan Holtzhausen 1-12 (2) and Abdur Rahman Momla 1-21 (4).
In chasing the score, the Snipers just couldn't find anything above second gear and made 107-2 in 20 overs.
Only Eben Schoeman, with 38* off 42 balls, found any fluency with the bat.
Extras played a big part, with too many wide deliveries sent down by both teams.
