Donkey Derby a galloping success

A whopping R58 000 was raised.

THANKS to generous punters and sponsors, last Saturday’s Donkey Derby fund-raiser for Cansa was a runaway success.

A grand total of R58 000 was raised, a whopping R16 000 more than last year.

A huge vote of thanks goes to Graham Hack of the Margate Masonic Lodge who organised the event, one of the highlights on Cansa’s fund-raising calendar.

The Lutheran Church hall in Izotsha was transformed into a bright and colourful ‘racecourse’, which this year had a ‘carnival’ theme.

Lots of prizes were handed out and punters were also treated to a four-course Chinese meal.

James Jones of Cansa said the evening was a great success and thanked the clubs, sponsors and community for their generous contributions.
