Lizette launches debut novel

She had time on her hands and started writing as a hobby.

A NOVEL, entitled ‘Two’ written by well-known former model and model boss, Lizette Smit, was launched at Ramsgate Stationers last Saturday.

The book is billed as a coming of age story, but one that offers hope because of the courage and integrity of the heroine, Angelique. Raised by her adpotive father, Caleb, Angelique lives on an isolated farm in the mountains. Caleb knows she must be prepared to embrace her destiny and teaches her valuable skills.

More than just an angel by name, Angelique comes of age along with the Shadow of Darkness, the evil set to destroy her and the world. In writing about the fight between good and evil, Lizette drew on her belief in Karma, in angels and the fact that good will always overcome evil. Her book is a fictional story that targets a teenage and young adult audience.

Lizette said that that she used her weekends to write the novel, with no real intention of ever seeing it published. “I found it was a wonderful distraction from reality,” she said.
