Mardi Gras magic in Margate
There were all the usual sights and sounds to take in.
MARDI Gras is about flea markets, music, street parties and excitement.
Started by the Margate Business Association nearly two decades ago, the Mardi Gras street parties take place in Marine Drive every holiday season, with the latest one held on Wednesday last week.
The road is practically shut off from 6pm to 10pm and, as usual, there were crazy costumes, children everywhere, and both locals and visitors having a great time.
Stallholders sold a wide variety of crafts, clothing and tasty food.
Local restaurants and pubs were packed and many of the shops extended their trading hours to cater for the crowds.
