IF you have a musical talent then be sure to enter the Margate talent competition.
Twilight Entertainment is hosting the contest in search of new and promising songwriters, musicians and singers.
So far, rounds have been held at the Fork ‘n Pub last Friday and at Da Matos last Sunday.
The next rounds will be held at Oasis Pub and Grill on Wednesday, February 4, Da Matos on Friday, February 6 and at the Fork ‘n Pub on Saturday, February 7.
Ettiene van der Merwe, founder of Twilight Entertainment, said there were lots of prizes up for grabs including a cash prize of R20 000.
On April 11, popular Afrikaans singer Theunis Jordaan will perform at Uvongo Town Hall. He will also be judging the finalists and handing over the cash prize.
Ettiene said the idea behind the competition was to bring life back to Margate. “So far we have discovered some amazing, new talent,” he said.
He added that the competition is turning out to be much bigger than he imagined.
“I just want to give someone who has talent an opportunity and help them achieve their dream… and then my dream will be fulfilled,” he said.
