GUESTS enjoyed a perfectly polished and thoroughly entertaining performance from internationally acclaimed signers Cat Simoni and Paul Spence when they presented ‘Cat’s and Paul’s Golden Oldies’ at Azalea Hall last Saturday.
This was another of the Margate Retirement Village’s popular supper theatre evenings, with the audience bringing along picnic hampers and their own refreshments.
Cat and Paul sang wonderful old hits made famous by legends from yesteryear like Vera Lynn, Max Bygraves, Doris Day, Chuck Berry, The Inkspots, Bill Haley and The Comets, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand, Françoise Hardy and many more.
The show was devised and directed by Paul, who was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for seven years. His international career spans London to Copenhagen, Vienna and even Tokyo .
After 10 years’ singing for the international crème de la crème at London’s five-star venues and exclusive clubs like The Ritz, Carlton, Dorchester and Mayfair, Cat is back home and is delighted to be entertaining South African audiences.
