Please silence hooting taxis

These self-proclaimed `kings of the road' show a total lack of compassion or consideration when they drive past churches or hospitals.

TAKE a bow Tshwane Municipality for barring taxi operators from soliciting commuters by hooting or calling out in a manner that is offensive or a nuisance.

If only our municipalities would propose and more importantly, implement, similar legislation.

Incessant hooting from dawn to dusk by minibus drivers should not be tolerated.

These self-proclaimed `kings of the road’ show a total lack of compassion or consideration when they drive past churches or hospitals.

They simply toot their horns, sometimes in full view of traffic officers, whom they know will do nothing to stop them.

We need to lobby for such a by-law to be promulgated here on the South Coast.
