Headliners fail to show up

The shambolic show reflects badly on the entire coast and those who paid top dollar have every right to feel conned.

WHERE were Lira, Judith Sephuma, Thandiswa Mazwayi and Zama Jobe?

They were given top billing at last weekend’s Ugu Jazz Festival but failed to pitch up.

And a lone diva, Sibongile Khumalo, was the only performer at the much-hyped Divas’ Evening.

Local artist, Naima Key, refused to perform as she had been relegated to a smaller stage.

It is highly irregular to claim that top artists are going to be on stage.

The organisers need to be taken to task. A lot of public money has been spent and there has to be accountability. “Sorry, we still have a lot to learn,” will not cut it.
