Mr and Miss Day at the Races crowned

Winners walked away with wonderful prizes.

MORE than 60 models took part in the Mr and Miss Day at the Races pageant held at the Umthunzi Boutique Hotel last Saturday.

All models arrived at 9am, when they enjoyed a two-hour preparation workshop with Kevin Ellis, who choreographed and styled contestants on X-Factor South Africa.

Straight after the workshop, models went into rehearsals, and then changed into their Durban July Captain’s Table themed outfits.

In the three to six years category, Zenande Mncwabe was crowned queen, Nkanyezi Cele was first princess and Brooklyn Sanders was second princess.

In the seven to 10 years category, Anica Botha was crowned queen, with Jayleen Govender as first princess and Geveve van Rooyen as second princess.

Tannah Caldwell was crowned queen in the 11 to 13 years category. Tamica Biggar was crowned first princess and Christine Robson second princess.

Queen in the 14 to 15 category was Akira Manawar, with Naledi Kukhope and Nqobile Gumede as first and second princesses respectively.

In the 16 to open category Talisa Cornwall came in first place; her first princess was Katelyn Thompson and Charne van Rooyen was second princess.

Staurm Govender was crowned Mr Day at the Races in the junior category while Sibusiso Tsako came first in the senior category.

The pageant was hosted by Stacey Upfold from Ultimate Events.

Winners walked away with lovely prizes which included a tablet, holiday vouchers, photo shoots, jewellery, beauty products, designer dresses and hampers.
