German bazaar made everyone feel ‘willkommen’

There was something to tempt every palate at the bazaar.

DESPITE the rain and cold weather last Saturday, the Bethanien Lutheran Church German Bazaar was a great success.

South Coasters once again experienced a ‘taste of Germany’ in Izotsha. Heavily laden stalls offered all sorts of traditional German fare. “Considering the weather, it was a great success,” said Karin Asbock. “The bazaar was well attended and we sold almost everything,” she said.

She added that the meat sale was very popular once again.

The meat, including a variety of traditional sausages, plus other items including butterkuchen, eisbein, kirschtorte, sauerkraut and cake and not forgetting beer, attracted plenty of buyers.

There were also many arts and crafts stalls and loads of fun activities for the children.

The next date to diarise is the Christmas craft market to be held at the Lutheran Church on December 5. The organisers would like to thank all who supported the bazaar.
