BIRDS and their songs were the focus of the latest in the series of environmental talks hosted by Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh.
Guest speakers, Roy Cowgill and Stephen Davis, gave a fascinating presentation entitled ‘Birds of the Mid-South Coast and Their Sounds’.
They touched on the general differences in the sounds made by various bird families, before focusing on the calls of specific local species. Guests were also very interested when they elaborated on the art of reading and translating sonograms. Advice on differentiating between confusingly similar calls was also appreciated.
