Eye-catching trio joins Sports and Specials car run

There were some interesting newcomers in the Sports and Specials line-up.

A DELICIOUS breakfast-with-a-view and a chance to ride on the Hamba Wehelie train rounded off a well-supported and enjoyable October breakfast run for the Sports and Specials car group.

Some interesting new vehicles joined the procession as the cars set off inland to Paddock. Attracting plenty of attention was a venerable old Ford Model A truck, which had been lovingly restored by owner Delvin Allan.

Sean and Janet Larkins were pleased to be able to show off their new acquisition, a replica 1928 SSK Mercedes, a beautiful car that looked as if it just been driven off the Great Gatsby movie set. Another interesting – and very attractive – newcomer was the 1995 Reliant Scimitar Sabre, an unusual model owned by Charles Tilson.

Car enthusiasts were warmly welcomed when they arrived at the Gorgez View Restaurant where they were treated to an excellent buffet breakfast. After breakfast a number of car enthusiasts took a ride on the Hamba Wehelie, a little train that is based at Gorgez View.

Anyone with a contemporary or classic sports car or other interesting vehicle is invited to dust the cobwebs off their cars and join the Sports and Specials on the monthly breakfast runs. Contact Bill at 084 4110044 for more information.
