MBANGO Valley’s Christmas fete, an annual fund-raising event held on the premises of the Mbango Valley Association last Saturday, was a great success.

There was lots to see and buy, from cakes, books and plants to boerewors rolls, fresh produce and home-made jams.

Speciality stalls included an oyster bar, manned by Delene Starr, and home-made ice cream courtesy of St Martin de Porres School.

The Shito-Ryu karate dojo did its year-end grading in the hall at the fete, and this provided some good entertainment. Well done to all the karateka who graded on the day.

Organiser of the event Karin Lehmann said the weather played along perfectly as there was no rain between 9am and 1pm.
