Pensioners ‘bank’ on a good time

Childhood memories were re-kindled.

LOWER SOUTH COAST bank pensioners celebrated their Christmas year-end party in style at Port Shepstone Country Club last Thursday.

Chairman Margaret Douglass welcomed everyone and conducted a thanksgiving ceremony using white candles as a symbol of peace and appreciation of what the Lord had done for each individual during the year.

When all the candles were lit, Mrs Douglass led them through an old school prayer which rekindled childhood memories:

“Thank you for the food we eat, thank you for the world so sweet, thank you for the birds that sing. Thank you, God, for everything.”

The candles were blown out, followed by loud cheers and a fine meal.
