Aspiring actor Lesley on the red carpet again

The young actor has been busy of late.

LESLEY Pillay (19) of Marburg was recently in Durban to begin filming on a thriller movie called In Detention.

It’s the third movie the aspiring actor has been a part of.

“The movie is about a group of teenagers who miss the biggest party of the year as they get stuck in detention, where they then obtain supernatural powers,” he explained.

In the movie, Lesley plays a character known as Stephan the creep.

“I played a guy who likes to talk a lot, like me – I like to talk! I had to irritate a girl who was vandalising school property. So yes, it was a creep part in the movie,” he laughed.

It’s clear he has had a lot of fun while on set. “The cast has been friendly and I have loved every moment,” he said.

The movie is due for release sometime in 2016.

Last month Lesley also had the opportunity to attend the Durban Metro Film Awards for 2015, where he met some of the country’s celebrities, including Dumisani Mbebe, of Generations and Rhythm City fame, and SABC 1 (Imizwilili) presenter Vee Mthembu.

“Being on the red carpet was amazing and the awards ceremony was fantastic,” said Lesley, who thanked Happiness Mpaseh for the invitation.
