Restaurant of the Week: Munchner Haus German and Continental Restaurant
The eisbein and bauernplatter are among the most popular dishes.
AFTER a fun day at the beach, patrons can relax and enjoy a delicious meal at the Munchner Haus German and Continental Restaurant.
This St Mike’s restaurant is a popular eatery, thanks to its ideal location. Known for its flavoursome food, it also has a fully stocked bar, serving not only wines and spirits, but also German beer.
The extensive menu includes many German specialties and venison dishes such as kudu, wildebeest, warthog and the slow roasted blesbok shank, are favourites with diners who enjoy a little something on the wild side.
Munchner Haus owners Harald and Louise Gartner opened the restaurant in 2008 and have turned it into a favourite with locals and holidaymakers alike.
Harald, who is German (with the charming accent to boot) is also the chef at this much loved eatery, further ensuring authentic German flavours.
Despite its German roots and name, one can also enjoy delicious seafood, steaks and traditional Italian-style pizza, baked in a wood-burning oven.
The eisbein and bauernplatter are among the most popular dishes.
All the meals are freshly prepared and wholesome.
The restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner from 5pm till 9pm and open for lunch on Thursday, Friday and Sunday from noon till 2pm.
Kindly note that the restaurant is closed on Mondays.
