‘Hey cousin’ it’s comedy time down south

Comedy legend, Barry Hilton, will be on stage at the Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort for one night only. Be sure to book your seat.

SOUTH Africa’s elastic faced, king of clean comedy, Barry Hilton, brings his ultra funny, slick new production, Evolver, to Sun International’s Wild Coast Sun Hotel and Casino Resort for a one night only show on May 12. Fans can brace themselves for hilarious comedy in true Hilton style.

The comedy legend, who launched his career at the Wild Coast Sun in the Jupiter Theatre in 1986, kicked off his 2016 Evolver Tour at Sibaya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom in February, leaving the audience reeling with laughter at his tap-dancing mind, hilariously exaggerated facial expressions and all new material.

After 30 years of touring, six children, two ex-wives, a new wife, six dvds, two movies, Vegas, Cleese, Connolly, Monkhouse, millions of air miles and a Lifetime Achiever statue on his mantelpiece, Hilton is undoubtedly the quintessential South African comedy giant.

Showing no signs of slowing down, in 2015 Hilton sold out the 4 200 seater Big Top Arena at Carnival City in Gauteng before heading off to the iconic Concert Hall at the Sydney Opera House in Australia where he gave a stellar performance. He also headlined at the Kuala Lumpur International Comedy Festival last year and in 2014, he headlined at the Hong Kong Comedy Festival.

“We are thrilled to have South Africa’s comedy giant back on our stage this year. It will be something of a homecoming for Hilton who started his career at the Wild Coast,” says Sandi Burger, the PR and promotions manager at the Wild Coast Sun.

Forged in the fire of the global comedy circuit from London to Hong Kong, this versatile and dynamic comedy icon works the room with magnetic charm and infectious ease. His deft timing and tap-dancing mind will leave the audience breathless with laughter. He springs onto the stage at the Wild Coast Sun’s Tropical Nites Theatre at 8pm so do not miss it. Tickets range in price from R130 and are available at https://www.quicket.co.za or phone 021 424 9308.
