Restaurant of the Week: Da Mato Pub and Grill offers more than just pub grub

WHEN you walk into Da Mato Pub and Grill, you instantly feel welcome.
The rustic interior is cosy and inviting with aromas of delicious meals being prepared in the kitchen.
“It’s good food prepared to a high standard that is fairly priced and the portions are really generous,” said owner Tony Faxelhas.
“People keep coming back because prices are affordable and it’s a perfect treat for the whole family.”
The menu is quite extensive and includes small meals, burgers, meal baskets and steak lovers will enjoy the grill menu.
For the hungry, there are also meal combos, which include seafood and spicy Portuguese style fare.
You can round your meal off with a sweet delight from the dessert menu.
The restaurant’s daily breakfast special is kaiings (crackling) and pap with a side of meaty gravy for R29.90. If you are really hungry, add a fried egg for an extra R3.
And every Sunday evening from 6pm, diners can enjoy a chicken schnitzel covered in a creamy mushroom sauce and chips for only R29.95.
This popular restaurant is open seven days a week from 10am till late and it is located next door to Pronto Bakery in Marine Drive, St Mike’s.
