Restaurant of the Week: Fish on the River calls seafood lovers
Thee restaurant still serves seafood dishes where the 'fish is fresher and the batter is better'
THIS seafood restaurant still serves the same freshest, highest quality seafood at an affordable price as it did in 2004 when it first opened.
The most popular dish is the catch of the day, referred to as the ‘secret of the boat’, which means it is fresh fish caught on the day by local anglers and may comprise dorado, geelbek, couta or red roman, grilled or fried to perfection and served with rice, chips or a salad.
Besides being big on combinations and salads, this restaurant is also strictly halaal and serves traditional masala-style dishes.
If this is not enough to whet your appetite, then the Neptune’s Basket is sure to do so. This signature platter is a medley of seafood, including calamari and fish nuggets, and is a firm favourite.
The King Mega is a super-sized fillet of line fish, topped with six black tiger prawns, drenched in a creamy lemon parsley sauce and served with two side plates of chips and salad.
Vegetarians are catered for, and patrons who have seafood allergies can enjoy the juicy and tasty chicken breast fillets.
Desserts are available on request.
Out of season this restaurant is closed on Mondays, while in season, it operates every day. To book phone 071 5380962.
