Prawns, prawns and still more prawns

The wine and prawn festival was a roaring success.

PORT Shepstone Nederduitsch Hervormde Kerk’s prawn festival and wine pairing took place at the Cinder City Moth Shellhole in Sea Park last Saturday. Close to 50 guests enjoyed table snacks, a three-course meal and as many king size prawns as they could eat.

Aside from filling up on fine prawns and wine, this delectable event had something for everyone with guests soaking up some good music and great camaraderie. Local lad Charl Loggerenberg contributed his music talents, with his disco, to the success of the event. His music set just the right tone. The attractive layout gave the festival a ‘by the sea’ feel, adding to the relaxed, informal atmosphere.

Guests were almost bowled over when they were invited to dine. The giant prawn dish was nothing short of a work of art and it tasted as good as it looked.  Proceeds totalling R12 000 from the event will be equally divided between the Port Shepstone Nededuitsch Hervormde Kerk and the Moths.
