South Coast fashionistas tell us what they’re looking forward to this season

Say goodbye to winter clothes and hello spring wardrobe.

SPRING almost is here, and the young South Coast fashionistas are hitting the streets of the coast in numbers.

The South Coast Herald went out to snap some of them in some of the spring season’s returning trends, like crop tops, high-waist shorts … fresh hair colours and styles.

The Herald also found out about what they’re most looking forward to this coming season.

Sesethu Halimana(21)

Sesethu  Halimana from Margate said, ”What I’m most looking forward to in spring is obviously the beautiful sunny days, the pop of colour having the freedom to be as bold and loud in color coordination of outfits, wearing those sleeveless tops and staying up at night to watch the beautiful sky with stars dancing.”

Two MUST have items? ”Well I just love being able to wear sandals and being able to show skin, so a beautiful blend of shorts and crop out tops are definitely on my list of MUST haves this spring,” said Sesethu.

Philasande Daki(27)

The Durban-based production designer, who’s hails from Margate is looking forward to seeing district collar designs this  season.

”They’re a must-have this spring. Design collars play a double-edged function, as a unique accessory and are distinct to the wearer…As Miranda Presley played by Meryl Streep, from “Devil Wears Prada” once infamously said: ‘Floral in spring, groundbreaking.’

“This year, as men- we’re stepping in, and shaking things up. So a floral blazer is a must have, that can be paired together with any monochromatic shirt or T-shirt for any spring occasion,” he said.

Bulelani Lubanyana(23)

Former Mr Gamalakhe said, ”being a ‘nature’s boy’, I am looking forward to seeing greener pastures, and flowers blooming with their radiant colours. Spring represents new birth, everything becomes new. I favour spring because of the bright, and colourful fashion it brings forth.”

Two must-have items? ”Even though I am a person who is overwhelmingly in love with classic looks. I’m looking forward to wearing ripped jeans and striped t-shirts. It’s not necessarily about being rocking classic looks all the time, sometimes a mixture of classic and casual clothes does the trick,” he explained.
