Motivation Monday: Inspirational advice to get you through the week

Don't let laziness get the best of you.

IN this day and age, people are more sheltered and less independent than previous generations.

Thanks in part to the proliferation of smartphones, post-Millennials seem to prefer to stay in and Facebook, and this seems to be making them less happy.

Here are a few pointers that will hopefully  motivate you to make the most of this week.

Various ongoing research studies seem to indicate that spending too much time on social media and other “screen” activities can be strongly linked to lower levels of happiness,  higher feelings of loneliness, levels of depression, and risk of suicide. To some degree, we all suffer from “FOMO,” ( fear of missing out) on the fun everyone else seems to be having. Once people see how other people are living, they starting comparing lives and that may lead to depression.

No one is a stranger to rejection, and no one is immune to it either.  Rejection can however be seen as motivation to work harder, or as a sign that as one window closes, another will surely open.

Wishful thinking will not allow you to achieve our goals. Hard work and perseverance will.  It is all about starting where you are, using what you have and doing what you can.
