AREN’T you tired of pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS)?, I know I certainly am – very, very tired of feeling bloated, fatigued and irritated. by PMS.

Well, worry no more, hopefully:

Here are some tips on how you can reduce or manage PMS

  • First and foremost, the foods you eat are said to have a great impact on your energy levels. Eat right!
  • How? you may ask: Well here’s the answer from Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine (WHFM): Stabilising blood sugar will favour consistent energy levels and moods.

  • Diet, diet and diet but don’t starve yourself to death, LOL! Again WHFM says some studies show that PMS may be exacerbated by too much caffeine, sugar and alcohol. To minimise such symptoms, you may trying to reduce your alcohol, caffeine and salt intake, and follow a low-GI diet.

 

  • Sounds too much? Wait until its all most that time of the month and you PMS and ruin your relationships with your loved ones with being easily irritated. Not so good.

 

  • Yes you may down a few good supplements to help you manage the symptoms. WHFM suggests vitamin B6 and evening primrose oil, which have healthy essential fatty acids. Both supplements have been shown in studies to help alleviate some symptoms in women with PMS and many women benefit from them.

 

  • Okay I know you might not like to hear this but ‘The Pill’ is also among things that can assist. WHFM suggests that contraceptive pills can help ameliorate symptoms of severe PMS.

  • Anti-depressants? Yip! my thought exactly, but experts believe if you feel your life might be invaded by creepy hormones on a month to month basis, antidepressants are the way to go as they tend to provide great relief!
