Why the pH of bottled water is important

pH is really a measure of the relative amount of free hydrogen and hydroxyl ions in the water.

Next time you buy bottled water, check out the pH level on the side of the bottle.

The pH of pure water is 7.

In general, water with a pH lower than 7 is considered acidic, and with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic.

The normal range for pH in surface water systems is 6.5 to 8.5, and the pH range for groundwater systems is between 6 to 8.5.

Alkalinity of water is important.

It is believed by many that inflammation is the cause of diseases and inflammation is caused by being too acidic.

So, if water is considered too acidic (or for that matter too alkaline) the human body will not allow the water into its cells.

This is something you could further discuss with a medical professional.
