Are dogs being dressed for their benefit or against their will?

One might feel as though they’re providing the best of the best for their little loved ones but is what’s best for you, best for your pooch?

Some dog owners dress up their dogs for their dog’s well-being.

Perhaps it’s a cold winter’s day and you have a hairless Chihuahua that’s as cold as an eskimo in Alaska.

If you hadn’t clothed the little guy, he could have suffered greatly from the unbearable weather conditions.

Then you get dog owners that dress up their dogs to look as fashionable as they do – just for their own entertainment.

Animals don’t have a voice and obviously cannot pour out their frustration like we humans are able to.

Yes, one’s precious pooch may look like a million bucks in his/her designer jackets and boots with a personalised blinged-out collar, but how does one know if they’re comfortable or not?

One might feel as though they’re providing the best of the best for their little loved ones but is what’s best for you, best for your pooch?

Dogs may also face several consequences if and when clothed. Their fur may get matted underneath clothing if not changed and groomed regularly or they may get stuck or caught to a fence by a thread.

There are a number of pros and cons but keep in mind the dogs interests.

Several ‘posh pooches’, not only look the part, but live the part as well. There are even dog hotels worldwide that cater for dogs of certain upper-class standards.

If the owner wants to live in a five star hotel, they believe their dog should be looked after in the same manner.

Whatever the case may be, your dog is not an accessory, it’s a part of your life so do what’s in their best interest.
