1. Fevers that remain above 38.3 degrees Celsius for more than three days, or any fever above 39.5 degree Celsius. Children with high fevers should see a doctor within 24 hours.

2. Any hot, extreme pain, such as earache, swollen tonsils, sinus pain or aching lungs and chest.

3. Excessively large amounts of sputum, or sputum that is greenish or bloody.

4. Excessive loss of appetite.

5. Wheezing.

6. Shortness of breath.
