Restaurant of the Week: The Packshed
There's something special planned for Christmas lunch and New Year's Eve, too.
Cosmopolitan and trendy, The Packshed Restaurant, located at Sweetdale Farm on the old Izotsha road, perfectly blends zesty spices and Mediterranean herbs to create incredibly tasty fusion food.
The food on the menu is inspired by a wonderful mix of mouth-watering flavours from countries travelled to by owner/managers, Connie Kern, Daniel Kern, Sam Wenger and Mario Bürli.
Executive chef, Bradley Castle, masterfully adds a South African twist to the mix.
Start your journey with espresso rubbed pork fillet with pumpkin jelly, or Falklands calamari salad.
Continue with mains, which include sirloin steak tagliata, lamb shank with polenta, or fresh Saldanha Bay mussels.
End your travels with lavender and vanilla panna cotta or Swiss Lindt chocolate fondant.
“We source our meat and seafood locally. We’re passionate about organic and sustainable farming methods,” says Bradley.
Don’t miss out on the Christmas lunch, which boasts a five-course meal, and/or the New Year’s Eve spectacular ‘Eat-All-You-Can’ food festival.
