Celebrity Birthday – January 9: Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries celebrates her special day

Bulgarian-Canadian actress, Nina Dobrev turns 29 today!
Nina is best known for her roles as Elena Gilbert on The CW’s ‘The Vampire Diaries’ and as Mia Jones in ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’.
She has also starred in movies such as ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, ‘Let’s Be Cops’ and ‘The Final Girls’ to name a few.
Nina was born Nikolina Konstantinova Dobreva in Sofia, Bulgaria, and moved to Toronto at the age of two.

There she attended Vradenburg Junior Public School and J. B. Tyrrell Sr. Public School. Some of the activities she participated in at school included ballet, jazz classes and gymnastics.
She then started acting classes at Armstrong Acting Studios and did the arts programme at Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts in Scarborough.
Nina majored in Sociology at Ryerson University in Toronto, but as her acting career took off, she was unable to graduate.
