Here are some tips to allow everyone to enjoy the sun, while still keeping safe.
1. Lather up.
Sunscreen provides a protective layer against UVA and UVB rays, which can cause long-term skin damage.
2. Bring a brolly.
Even on beach days, clothing that completely covers the body offers the best protection.
3. Keep your head.
Don’t forget to put sunblock on your scalp. Never let your child leave home without a hat.
4. Drink fluids.
Thirst isn’t the best indicator of hydration, so get those fluids in.
5. Take cover.
Take regular breaks from direct exposure to sunlight.
6. Mind your feet.
Footwear will prevent blistering when walking on hot surfaces.
7. Be cool and carry on.
UV rays can harm the eyes too, so a good pair of sunglasses is useful to have.
