‘Answer’ the first song from Jessica Chaz’s upcoming EP “Dreamin’” stays with you long after you’ve heard it.

From Jessica’s upbeat, soulful vocals delivered with contagious grit and determination to lyrics that will embed themselves in listeners minds, ‘Answer’  is the perfect appetiser for what’s to come.

In ‘Answer’ Jessica delivers a heartwarming story of searching. The song describes a feeling of despair that so many feel when dreams are on the line, when there is no visible answer in sight, and no physical help to achieve them. It’s a story of believing in oneself, the journey of finding the strength to believe regardless of circumstances. Jessica co-produced the track with songwriter Vanessa Moodley, who also sang backing vocals. Greg Bedford was the mixing engineer. The track was recorded at The Audio Suite in Durban, South Africa and Demitone Studios in Vancouver, Canada.

Moodlab Music, the label behind ‘Answer’ and Jessica’s upcoming releases, is a groundbreaking new venture. Vanessa Moodley and Jessica Chaz founded the independent label in order to provide more opportunities to female artists. The ‘Dreamin’ EP will be the flagship project for Moodlab. Jessica and Vanessa are excited to share their vision with the world.

Dreamin’ is about dreams that we all have for our lives; this EP is the story of my journey to find a way to live out my dream; dreaming kept hope alive through every curve ball that came my way: hurdles and obstacles I had to face became stepping stones when I paused to dream again … – says Jessica about the creation of  Dreamin.

Vanessa Moodley is an award-winning singer-songwriter, having won first place in the jazz category in the US Songwriting Competition. With the help of now business partner, Jessica Chaz, Vanessa completed the successful release of her debut EP ‘Loved’ in 2016, resulting in a national tour and numerous radio placements around the world, the sisters seized the opportunity of formalising a partnership in an industry generally lacking in female representation. After three years of writing and planning, the fierce duo is ready to hit the road running with Jessica’s long-awaited debut EP, “Dreamin.”

Jessica is looking forward to the releases planned for the upcoming months. ‘Dreamin’ will be released on May 4th, 2018.

About Jessica Chaz

Dynamite singer-songwriter, Jessica Chaz is a performing artist with a unique vocal talent. A Vancouver based beauty born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Jessica’s passion for music started out by singing harmonies and bass lines to TV ads as a child. Throughout her early school years, she tried out different instruments always interested in the groove and beat behind the music. Jessica faced a few curve balls which brought her to the moment when she realized that music was part of her destiny. She began to feel an increasing resolve that she was born to be a musician, an artist who was meant to touch people’s lives through her music.

She explains, “No matter what was going on in my life, singing was the one thing I could do, so I fell into it and stayed there.”

For Jessica, music is where her purpose lies. She feels her journey to date has been to prepare her for what she is about to do.
