Live art demonstration by watercolourist in Ramsgate

Artists’ Gallery in Ramsgate holds monthly art demonstrations where various artists share their knowledge.

After many requests from the art loving market, the gallery is delighted to announce that top watercolourist painter, Grant Wood, will be doing a demonstration next Saturday (24th). Grant will be demonstrating live painting and offering tips and techniques as to how he does what he does. He is also extremely entertaining to listen to and to watch.

He has featured in the last two SA Magazines and his work has been sold worldwide. He has always had a love for and fascination with art – particularly watercolours. He says he was motivated and inspired by the old, movie reel flicks when he was a pupil at DHS where Alan Turton, his art teacher, used to feature Nils Anderson and other great watercolourists at the time. Douglas Treasure and the late Richard Rennie were also greatly admired artists whom he knew and worked with.

His watercolour style is instantly recognisable where he has the uncanny ability to use loose strokes capturing light and movement perfectly.
