Plenty to celebrate for Tweni tennis members
Angus Black is another member who has had to lay off tennis for a while due to the eye ops he has had to undergo, but he hopes to be back on the courts by the end of this month with greatly improved vision.
Tennis players enjoyed some quality tennis at Umtentweni Tennis Club last Saturday with Reyneke ‘Swannie’ Swanepoel making a surprise visit while on holiday at the coast. He certainly hasn’t lost his touch even though the cobwebs on his racquet had to be dusted off.
This Sunday, Tweni will go down south to play a friendly match against Southbroom.

Some good news from proud Gran, Geraldine Lange – a long-standing member of Tweni Tennis Club – is that her grandson, Matt Coetzer and his partner, Josh Simpkins, did very well in Pitesti, Romania at the World Marathon Canoe Championships.
They then went on to do the Fish River Canoe Marathon where they finished third, winning the bronze medals, which was a marvellous achievement as even though they are still under 16, they were competing in the under 18 age group.
Then there is exciting news concerning Colin Marx, a former student member of the club, who has been awarded a professorship at the University College of London as from October 1, much to the delight of his folks, Louis and Jean.
Birthday wishes go to Mark Hannaway who celebrates his birthday today (14th).
