At Southbroom Golf Club:
In last Wednesday’s Alliance, Martin Hutton, Phil Verwey, Gary Purtell and Derek James’ 101 point finish saw them edge out second placed Bruce Matthew, Peter Kupisiewicz, Rory O’Donnell and Gary Godley by one point.
Graham Volck, Andy Bossard, Alex and Ken Crawford rounded off the top three with 98 points.
In the Nashua open day last Friday, Johan Venter, Hennie van der Berg, Jaco van der Waal and Piet Fourie finished in first place on 100 points. Bruce Matthew, Phil Verwey, Geoff Skelton and Gavin Sole secured second spot with 95 points, one point clear of third place Dave Fox, Mark Kassner and Peter Kupisiewicz who finished on 94 points
Riverbend’s 40th anniversary golf day took place last Saturday and was played in a Betterball Stableford format.
In the ladies competition, Annemarie Bruwer and Heleen Hissey’s 42 points saw them claim top spot, which was followed by a second place count out that saw Jean Cole and Sandy FitzGerald claim second spot on 38 points in a finish ahead of Alexandra Huber and Heiner Spoerri.
Anton Leal and Chris Ledden’s 45 points saw them claim top spot in a narrow victory, one point ahead of the pairing of Werner Duggan and Christer Solgevik as well as Roger Hissey and Pierre van der Walle who tied for second place on 44 points.
There was a three-way tie for fourth, fifth and sixth spot between Andre Ollewagen and Craig Treherne; Gavin and Graham Sole; Grant Richards and Grant Richards Jr. on 43 points a piece.
At Port Shepstone Country Club:
After the course was closed last Wednesday, last Saturday’s Beekman and Umthunzi golf day was won by Abe Sidumo and Barry Oehme on a count of 46 points, ahead of Loyiso Goqwana Pivot who also ended on 46 points.
Andries and Jenny Brewis finished third on 45 points
