Goals galore at Amanzimtoti soccer fields

Despite Toti United Football Club (FC) juniors losing their friendly games, the U15A-team dominated their league game by scoring some impressive goals.

THE Hutchison Park grounds saw some action-packed games on July 2, as Toti United Football Club (FC) juniors played one catch-up league game and two friendlies.

The home grounds were roaring with support from both parents and fellow teammates cheering the players on, in what the club’s secretary, Jade Jacobs, described as games that kept the supporters wanting more.

In an exhilarating U15A Toti vs Escombe FC league game, Toti scored some impressive goals which resulted in a 6–0 win. The team’s coach, Derrick Pillay, said it was a great result, however, he stated that there is always room for improvement in terms of the team’s weaknesses, discipline and consistency.

Toti United Football Club’s U15A player, Lwethu Nzama, dodges the opposition and secures the ball.

The U11-side played a friendly against Highlanders FC, with Highlanders winning 4–2. “The U11s came back strong in the second half, scoring their two goals to catch up to their opponents which kept the opposition on their toes,” said Jacobs.

The U17A-side lost 3–4 to Senzokuhle FC during a friendly game. Jacobs said they were tough opponents, but Toti played with heart and kept pushing.

Leg 1 of this season’s league is complete and on a winter break during the school holiday. “Training and games will commence again from July 17, while some teams are still setting up friendly matches throughout the holidays,” said Jacobs.
