March to the tune of Toti drummies squad
GIRLS - do you fancy becoming a drum majorette?
Plans are in place to resurrect an independent squad of drummies under the banner of Amanzimtoti Drum Majorettes.
Girls from grade 8 to 12 who live in Toti can join the team and those in grade 7 are also welcome to join, as it is close to year-end. Interested parents and girls are invited to attend an information evening in the hall at Amanzimtoti High School on Monday, 19 August at 6.30pm.
Practises will commence on Monday, 26 August and will thereafter be held every Monday and Friday, from 5pm to 6.30pm on the fields at Toti High.
The team will participate in various competitions during the year, as well as provincial and national competitions. Drummies is also an opportunity to obtain KZN and SA colours.
Amanzimtoti Drum Majorettes will be registered with the South African Drum Majorette and Cheerleading Association.
The team is looking for sponsorship for the purchase of uniforms, props and equipment. If anyone is able to assist, contact Tiffanee on 074-323-0911.
