The event was hosted by Refresha Trading Enterprises in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Affairs.

Convenor Nirvasha Chetty said that the fair was aimed squarely at promoting environmental awareness, creativity and innovation. It encouraged young eco-warriors to “upcycle” plastic waste into useful and artistic creations.

The school was represented by learners Zoya Dildar, Adhikar Dukhipersad and Sade Grace Pillay. Chetty was delighted to announce that Zoya achieved third place in the competition thanks to her creative, innovative thinking. She further commended Adhikar and Sade for their efforts and imaginative contributions at the event.

“The fair provided a valuable platform for young environmental ambassadors to showcase their talents while highlighting the importance of recycling, upcycling and environmental sustainability. Kamalinee Primary School is immensely proud of all three learners for representing the school with distinction and contributing to the promotion of a cleaner, greener future,” said Chetty.
