Men’s handicap singles champ named at Toti BC
Well done to Denis Roelofsz who came third in the champion of champions
IN Amanzimtoti Bowling Club men’s handicap singles, Alec Stirzaker beat Ian Couch; Mike Roberts defeated Gustav Somers; Carl van Heerden beat Clive Frank; and Greg McLeod beat Colin Coetzee.
In the semi-finals, Alec Stirzaker overcame Mike Roberts and Carl van Heerden beat Greg McLeod. Congratulations to Carl who beat Alec in the final on Sunday and is handicap singles champion. Well played to Alec, who is this year’s runner-up.
Well done to Denis Roelofsz who came third in the champion of champions, and to Lynn Joubert who got through to the second round in her first attempt in this competition.
Well done to our women in the Scottburgh tournament, Barbara Beamson, Doreen Salmond, Marion Crouch and Mardi Dovale were third, and Julie Sutherland, Stella Erasmus, Marie van der Walt and Jenny Greenslade came seventh.
In the mixed pairs, Greg McLeod and Marion Crouch beat Mickey Roche and Michelle Pitchers to go through to the final. Lofty van Tonder and Robyn Hutton beat Paul Steele and Adrienne Robbins; and Ian Crouch and Barbara Beamson beat Doug Joubert and Julie Sutherland. The winners between Lofty and Ian will meet Greg and Marion in the final.
Toti had six teams in the Westville Women’s Day trips. Well done to Robyn Hutton, Michelle Pitchers and Leonie Mills who won the third session. Remember Big Chicks is on Sunday.
