Call to support life-affirming campaigns

AFRICA Cares for Life has two campaigns on the go, defending the Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and Precious Feet Campaign.

“We want the community and churches to get more involved in defending the sanctity of human life,” said director Shanno Enoch, director of Africa Cares for Life.

People can get involved by observing Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) on 2, February 2014. It is held on the Sunday in February that falls closest to the day on which abortion was legalised in South Africa.

Since 1998 Christians in South Africa have observed SOHLS as a day to celebrate the intrinsic value of human life. The day also provides an opportunity for pro-life organisations to share the work they do to bring life-affirming resources to their communities and to empower women and men to choose life for their unborn child.

“We need to respect this day, to honour human life. It is a day for the 1,1-million babies which have been aborted.”

The organisation is also creating awareness on the value of human life through the Precious Feet Campaign. “Everyone would like to have a part in saving babies' lives. They can do this by wearing a Precious Feet pin. The pin is the exact size of an unborn baby's feet at 10 weeks after conception,” said Shanno.

The cost of the pin is R18 each. For more information or to buy a pin, contact Africa Cares for Life on 031-903-2340 or 073-1622-334.
