21 Club makes more Christmas memories

Christmas trees, tinsel, lights, stars, angels, candles, holly and mistletoe abounded.

A MIRACLE make-over by the 21 Club committee and some helpful elves transformed Lords and Legends conference room into a Christmas wonderland for the final luncheon of the year.

Christmas trees, tinsel, lights, stars, angels, candles, holly and mistletoe abounded.

But best of all, many good friends wearing silly hats and flashing earrings shared a traditional festive meal and a glass or two while popping crackers and making memories.

The club was honoured to have the Umbogintwini Primary School grade 7 choir entertain with a beautiful version of “Oh, Holy Night” followed by a toe-tapping “Stand by Me”. Many thanks to the principal, Verity Eustice, for this privilege.

Club members, Gwyn Mc Leod, Margi Botha, Sheilah Oates, Liz Dumke, Arlene van der Merwe and Jenny Perkins collectively spent about one hundred years at Twini Primary and were justifiably proud of the performance and the competent conductor, Kayleigh Eustice.

Lyne Lyle, trusted photographer, and Jerry Gertzen of Orange River Cellars were given tokens of appreciation for their significant contribution this year.

Many thanks must go to Greg of Lords and Legends for his patience and co-operation in producing not only an excellent standard of food, but often adapting courses to suit the colour scheme or theme of the month.

The next luncheon will be held on Wednesday, 22 January 2014. Look out for details in the Sun next year.
