Urgent Santa Shoebox Project Amanzimtoti community appeal

The Santa Shoebox Project ensures that less fortunate children get a personalised Christmas shoebox with their name on it.

THE Santa Shoebox Project celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Despite progress, a significant number of children are still waiting for someone to choose them and prepare a personalised Christmas shoebox with their name on it.

One of the project’s co-ordinators for Amanzimtoti and the surrounding areas, Mandy Bowles, said the project serves a wide area from Scottburgh to Chatsworth.

“One pledge can become a meaningful experience for a child who might otherwise go without a Christmas gift this year,” said Bowles.

She encouraged the community to go onto the Santa Shoebox website and make a pledge.

Santa Shoeboxes can be dropped off on October 30 and 31. For more information and assistance with pledging or where to drop off donations, Bowles can be contacted on WhatsApp at 082 327 4273. The project’s website is www.santashoebox.org.za
