Added security to safeguard beachgoers

Visitors to Toti main beach can rest assured with an extra deployment of security and cleaning personnel on the beach this festive season.

A total of 20 security guards, 15 lifeguards, 12 cleaning staff, eight information people and six child minders will guarantee a safe and pleasant visit to the beach for locals and holidaymakers.

“Holidaymakers can feel welcome with extra security and a clean Toti main beach to enjoy,” said Sapphire Coast Toti Tourism (SCTT) chairman, Jacques van Schalkwyk. “Thank you to all the stakeholders involved from the SCTT.”

The public is urged to support beach activities hosted by MTN on Toti main beach on Thursday, 12 December, Friday, 13 December, Thursday, 19 December, Friday, 20 December, Saturday, 21 December and Friday, 3 January.

“They must also take advantage of the locker facilities, where they can keep their belongings safe,” said Jacques.

The Warner Beach Body Boarding Club will host a body boarding competition at Warner Beach on Monday, 23 December. Registration is from 6.30am and the action gets underway from 7am. For more information, contact Simon Williamson on 072-203-7422.

The Umgababa Sports Festival, scheduled for 14 and 15 December, has been cancelled due to Nelson Mandela’s funeral.
