Two injured in separate accidents

TWO people were injured in two separate accidents on the N2 on Tuesday morning, 14 January.

One man was injured after a fourteen-wheeler overturned on the northbound lane of the N2, near the Umkomaas off-ramp at about 7am

“Paramedics found the injured driver at the side of the road. They stabilised him and transported him to a Scottburgh hospital,” said Chris Botha of Netcare 911.

In a second incident, one person was injured in a rear-end collision on the southbound lane of the N2 in Umgababa at about 7.40am.

“Reports indicate a vehicle collided into the rear of another before veering off the road and coming to rest in the centre median next to the northbound lane.

Paramedics found the roadway obstructed with debris and the twisted frame of one vehicle. After triaging, they found one person had sustained serious injuries. After the patient was stabilised he was taken to a nearby hospital.”
